Covid 19 Committee of Management Update 15th March 2020.
The Covid 19 outbreak is a worrying time for all. In particular this is a worry for those who have the virus and for our doctors, nurses & auxiliary staff who have to work in this developing crisis with limited resources. We wish to inform all Members that Fermoy Golf Club will follow the direction, advice and guidelines of Government, the HSE and the GUI/ILGU.
The safety of our employees, members & visitors is a priority. This is a developing situation and we would like to keep the club open to members with the following guidelines. The bar and restaurant will remain open to members for now. We advise the following:
We advise all members and staff to take the situation seriously. As individuals we have a responsibility to be informed about this condition and to take steps to limit the spread of the condition. Any Club Member who has been out of the country and has visited an infected area within the past two weeks is requested not to come to the Club for the next fourteen days.
Any Club Member who has been in close contact with a person who has the virus, please do not come to the Club over the next 14 days.
Any member who may have symptoms or thinks that they may have Covid 19 symptoms, please seek medical opinion immediately.
Social events in the clubhouse are postponed until further notice.
Entry to the club house is via the changing rooms until further notice where there is opportunity to wash your hands.
While in the clubhouse, please remain one metre apart from other people.
We are increasing the regularity and intensity of cleaning in the clubhouse.
While playing golf:
- Wash your hands at the end of the round or use a sanitiser
- Avoid handshakes at the end of the round
- While you putt, leave the flag stick in place on the green or if it must be removed, use your glove hand
Please wash your hands well and often:
- After coughing or sneezing; • When caring for the sick; • Before during and after you prepare food; • Before eating; • After toilet use; • When hands are visibly dirty; • After handling animals or animal waste
Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue or sleeve when coughing or sneezing and discard used tissue.
Avoid touching eyes, nose, or mouth with unwashed hands.
Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces.
Finally, this is a developing situation. We will monitor the information from the HSE on a daily basis to ensure that we have the most up-to-date information required in order to take the most appropriate actions.
