Club Message – March 2022

News

A message from Club President, John O’Sullivan, Men’s Captain, Gerry Stanton and Lady Captain, Siobhan Feehan.

Dear Fellow Members,

The new Golfing season is almost upon us. The days are beginning to stretch and the enthusiasm to get out and play is growing.
We want to thank last year’s Officer’s, Niall, Oonagh and Gerry for inviting us to take on their respective roles for this year. Our congratulations to them for their very successful year in Office despite the headwinds caused by Covid.

Our sincere thanks also to:
Seamus, Chairman and Committee of Management for their excellent leadership and stewardship of our club.
To Denis our Secretary Manager for his unstinting work in promoting and growing the club amongst his many duties.
To Thomas and the Course staff for all their great work.

We cannot go without mentioning Monika & Pawel for their service and pleasant manner.

An ever increasing number of visitors are playing our course and also availing of our facilities, who we offer a Cead Mile Failte.

This year is the 50th anniversary of our move to Corrin from the then rented nine holes at the Aerodrome, Fermoy. This was considered hugely risky at the time, particularly as the club had limited finance and modest membership. We salute and honour the farsightedness and hard work of the Officers and Trustees at that time. The course we now have is a testament to them and which we will celebrate officially on Saturday July 9th 2022.

We have a wonderful course with ever improving clubhouse facilities, which we can be rightly proud of. In wishing you all good health and good golf in 2022, we are mindful that a number of our friends and fellow members are presently unwell and they are in our thoughts and prayers.

Warm Regards,

John, Gerry, Siobhan.
